The year was 1976 and she was an international star when she scored her first perfect 10 on an asymmetrical bar during the Montreal Olympic Games. Then she scored another perfect 10 which made her the smallest Olympic gold medalist in all sports with a mere 14 years of age. The awe-inspiring Nadia Comaneci did more than draw the attention of others, but she also helped Romania become a household name. The sports icon was a worldwide sensation after she scored a record-breaking score. Her story became a legend and helped to popularize gymnastics across the world.
