Allyson Felix

Allyson Nicole Felix was born November 18 the 18th of November, 1985, at Los Angeles. Her father Paul Felix was an ordained minister at the Master's Seminary in Sun Valley while her mother Marlean Felix was a school teacher at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix's talent for athletics was evident from the moment she began her studies at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed with a second-place finish in the 200m race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. In 2003 Felix was a senior in high school having signed a professional contract with the sports organization Adidas and then enrolled at the University of Southern California where she studied elementary education. In 2004, Felix won her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece breaking a junior world record by doing 200 meters in 22.18 seconds. The year 2005 was the time she was the youngest 200-meter world champion during the Helsinki World Championships. She defended this title in 2007 by beating her longtime Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix was a participant at her first Olympics and in the Olympics of Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo regularly placing in the top 3 in all her races.
