Hilary Swank
Hilary Swank was an American actress that won awards for her performances in films such as "Boys Don't Cry" and "Million Dollar Baby". As the recipient of an Academy Award for Best Actress twice, this gifted actress is able to experimentation with roles and doesn't shy away acting in characters that are not glamorous. At the age of 8, her interest in becoming an actor was evident. Her childhood was difficult and was a victim of poverty and her life is an excellent illustration of how to overcome obstacles in life with hard work and determination in order to attain great success. As a teenager she would be drawn into the films and books for a way to get away from the difficult home life she was living. She excelled at dancing, swimming and gymnastics during her school years. In Los Angeles, she and her mother relocated at the age of 16 to pursue her acting career. She appeared in the film 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' The role she played in "The The Next Karate Kid" was a sought-after one, and several actors auditioned for it. Swank isn't only famous for her film work, but appears in a wide variety of TV shows.
